arlin report thought(s) of the day: it’s in our genes (human nature to kill)

“Because it is so pervasive, violence is often seen
as an inevitable part of the human condition – a fact
of life to respond to, rather than to prevent.” (a quote from of all places….the World Health Organization). This is one statement we can probably actually believe to be true.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-new-brain/201610/humans-are-genetically-predisposed-kill-each-other

There are many reasons why a human being kills another human being. Cops unfortunately are included in the percentage of our population that kills. There always has been and always will be a percentage of or a portion of (however you want to scale it) the population that is violent in nature and killing another is often the result of their rage. Humans are the one species that kills its own more so than any other living species. Violence is part of the human condition (human nature).

Violence (injury and killing others) while not acceptable is inevitable. It is an issue of law and order more so than a health/medical issue; though mental illness plays a part in the violent nature of many.

So, while we must have the discussion, and it is one we have over and over again, it isn’t going to change anything or much anyway. No matter what new policy is implemented (experiment) there is always going to be a dirty cop somewhere. Can things improve? We like to think so, and we have the talk to show that we are doing something. But it isn’t possible to solve a problem even when we put in place a resolution when it (the problem) is unsolvable. Doing something makes us feel better, sometimes! Right? The politicians will say all the right things and some the wrong things. It’s like a broken record player that keeps spinning the same lyrics over and over. Clergy will tell us what they always tell us. Civil Rights leaders will do the same. We know what’s coming……… but has anything really improved.

Racism is just one reason (and it is never acceptable) for someone killing another. We expect better from our police officers, but they are part of the human population; a percentage will do the wrong things and killing will continue. Law and order……….justice must prevail. The dirty cop, like anyone else must be arrested swiftly, charged and prosecuted.

This is a topic we can pick certain aspects of and have a conversation everyday. Nothing we haven’t said before, like how education (lack of), fatherless homes, on and on we go play a part . You’ve heard this before. What has changed? Very little. The problem is as old as the prehistoric man.

The question is can you change the violent part of human nature? I don’t think so. We can only hope to minimize it.

ARLIN REPORT QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Ferguson celebrators accept DOJ report of the racial issues discovered within the police department but refuse to accept the DOJ’s final report that Darren Wilson was justified in shooting Michael Brown.  Pick and choose what you want to believe.”

7 SIMPLE TIPS WHEN CONFRONTED BY A COP

Protesters in NYC were chanting for “Dead Cops”.  How smart is that, really?  There has and probably always will be a bad, stupid cop somewhere in the law enforcement system.  It isn’t unlike any other profession or sector of our society.   There are bad doctors, bad bankers, lawyers, it goes on and on; hell you may even have bad neighbors.  Those sexual child molester’s are living somewhere.   We don’t take to the streets to protest when a child is beaten to death and chant “Dead Perverts”.

If you or your son don’t want to be beaten or killed by a cop then use your head.   Here are some simple tips that seem to work:

1.  Don’t flash a gun around a cop real or a toy; it will keep you from being shot (don’t point your sandwich like it’s a gun either).

2. Don’t physically attack a cop.   If he can’t control you or he feels threatened (IN ANY WAY), he may pull his gun and shoot your foolish ass.

3. Don’t argue, do what you are ask…..okay maybe told or ordered.  Take it up later while you are still alive.  It’s okay to ask, “What is wrong officer?  What did I do?”

4. Follow their direction, if they say move on, move on.  Again, don’t argue…..take it up later.

5. Don’t get into a verbal argument, don’t get the cops blood rushing, once again, take it up later.

6. Answer any  questions they ask honestly and politely, if you need a lawyer, shut up and tell them politely, you want a lawyer.   They get that………usually; it will depend on your attitude.

7.  This is important:   BE BETTER THAN THEM.

Not even a bad cop will just pull his gun and shoot you for the hell of it.

One last point on Michael Brown I hope to ever make or repeat:   Michael Brown is dead because he attacked a cop.   If Michael Brown had cooperated, the worse that would have happened is he would have got taken in for stealing cigars.

BE SMARTER THAN MICHAEL BROWN!

Like anything there will always be the exception, but these tips will work more than not………I’d give it a 97% effective rate.

BLACK ON BLACK KILLINGS, NO BIG DEAL…TO BLACKS

Is the Department of Justice going to investigate every killing of a black man or just the white cops on black men?  They couldn’t  possibly investigate the black on black killings, they happen everyday.   Has there ever been a protest for B on B killing?  We aren’t protesting the right problems.

WHO WANTS TO BE A COP IN FERGUSON?

Featured Image -- 841You couldn’t pay me enough to be an officer of the law these days.  A few bad apples have made it more difficult for everyone else, which seems too often the case across the board in everyday living.

We want to recruit “better” qualified, unbiased people, young people.  With the disrespect that even our best receive from us, how many will leave for other professions?  It’s a problem, and we aren’t helping the matter.

Ferguson?  Who in their right mind would want to be a cop in Ferguson?   The people want to recruit more black cops.  With the black on black killing being so high (the high majority of the killings), why would a black man or woman want to be a police officer in Ferguson or anywhere in the St. Louis area.  Could being black raise the odds of you being killed, mostly likely by another black?

It’s a problem!
